Donald Newberry is the founder of TrueNorth Advisory Group, a seasoned program leader, educator, and U.S. Marine Corps veteran with a mission: to help others rise, lead, and succeed—no matter where they start.

With over 25 years of experience in the defense industry and a Doctor of Business Administration earned with distinction, Donald brings deep expertise in project and program management. He holds advanced certifications from the Project Management Institute (PMI) and has built and led high-performing PMOs supporting strategic, high-impact initiatives.

Beyond the boardroom, Donald is a dedicated educator. He has taught college and university courses in business and project management since 2017 and has spent more than two decades developing others through leadership training and mentorship. His contributions as a PMO Global Alliance judge and advisor with PMs Without Borders and How to Change the World reflect his global perspective and commitment to service.

But Donald’s journey started far from the world of credentials and accolades. Raised in poverty, shaped by a difficult childhood, and once part of the foster system, he knows firsthand what it means to overcome adversity. His life and work are a testament to resilience—and to the belief that with the right guidance and grit, anyone can find their True North.

TrueNorth Advisory Group was founded in 2025 with a clear purpose: to help others navigate leadership, growth, and transformation with clarity and integrity.

After decades of experience leading strategic programs in the defense industry, building high-impact PMOs, and training future professionals in classrooms and boardrooms alike, Donald Newberry launched TrueNorth to bring his lifelong passion for mentorship, resilience, and excellence into a single, mission-driven firm.
